“The Best Medicine” Update

It’s been a few months since NaNoWriMo. So let’s check in with my project for last year, shall we?

It’s March. Let’s compare to where I was the past two years at this point (March 22nd), shall we?

2013 (Fairest of Them All): 38,074 words

2014 (Dreams of a Rose): 40,410 words

2015 (The Best Medicine): 48,062 words

I’m doing really good this year, aren’t I? I do think Savannah and Isaac got together the fastest out of my three couples so far. But that’s not a problem. It makes the romance different, just like I had wanted. And I have come up with someone who is trying to be a roadblock.

I’ve also noticed I’ve put in a few more sex scenes as I progress with the series. Fairest of Them All had no sex scenes, though I’ve considered putting a few in during rewrites. Meanwhile, Dreams of a Rose had one at the end. Now this one has a few in the middle. I feel it’s just extension of the fact that this is my fastest romance so far.

On the fairy tale front, I’m happy where I’ve taken it. It’s coming along nicely.
