Writing, Writing, Writing

When I’m not at work, it’s all I seem to be doing. And it’s mostly my fanfiction. I haven’t completely neglected my original work, though. Well, maybe I’ve neglected some of my older manuscripts. I should go back to them.

Late last year, I discovered a writing website called “Novlr.” And I love it. It’s a place to write and store a novel. Available anywhere I can log into the website. So I can write as long as I have internet connection.

I’m writing two novels there. The first is “Long Live the Queen.” I’m sure I’ve written quite a bit on that by now. So let’s move onto the next one!

Long Live the Queen Update

It’s been four months since NaNoWriMo ended. And shortly after it, I decided that I needed to greatly rework Long Live the Queen. Change up a few things.

Like what, you ask? Well, I wanted to stress the court conflicts a bit more. Show the danger Morrigan and Snow face in the court. There will be a change with Arthur and how Morrigan meets him. He’s not going to be trapped as a bear and will have magic of his own, helping Morrigan while falling in love with her.

I also don’t want to isolate Morrigan, Hannah and Rose like I had originally done. Instead, I want them taken in by a community. A magical community at that. It should be fun to create such a world. Like my own Harry Potter!

There will probably be more changes. I’ll have to see as I continue writing it.

Of course, feel free to read the first few chapters here.

A couple weeks ago, I wrote about creating another account on the website Wattpad to post my original work separate from my fanfiction. It’s going pretty well too. Slow on comments, but that’s to be expected. It took me a while to build up an audience on Wattpad for my fanfics as well.

Most of my fanfiction has been hosted on Fanfiction.net. I’ve been there for almost a decade-and-a-half. So I was there when they created sister site FictionPress. Because of that, I automatically was given a profile there. I’ve hardly used it since high school, though.

Why do I bring this up?

January 25, 2016

I’m doing it.

I’m keeping one of my anticipations. Well, another one of them.

I’m putting a story up on Wattpad. It’s the one I started writing during this year’s NaNoWriMo, Long Live the Queen. It’s also undergoing some serious rewrites, but I think it’ll do well. Or at least I hope so.

If it does do well, I’ll put up a few more stories. Probably “The Conference House” and “The Wedding Game.” Maybe even “Fairest of Them All.” I’ll play it by ear.

So please look me up. I’m GraceMackenzieNess on there.

Thank you!

Fanfiction, Original Fiction and Me

In my last post, I said I was grateful for the Outlaw Queen fandom from Once Upon a Time. And that I was going to expound on it. So here we go:

I’ve been posting Outlaw Queen fanfiction for over a year now. And it’s been great. Fans love my writing. “All That Was Me” had its own hashtag on Twitter! I never thought I’d have that with my original writing, let along a fanfic. People also adore my Dark!Robin story, “The Prince of Darkness,” which makes me happy. It just started out as a one-shot. And then it grew bigger. Now, I’m planning a sequel as well.

Then there are my non-magical AUs—”Comfort Food,” “The Nanny,” and “Building a Family.” All have good followings, especially “The Nanny.” People clamor for updates. And they are really complimentary.

But I’m not writing this to toot my own horn. (Okay, maybe a little). I have a point beyond that.
