So, who caught Sons of Liberty? I know, I know. It was horribly inaccurate. And it seemed to be made by Sam Adams’ PR team despite the man being dead for a couple centuries. But it was entertaining with a cast of pretty. I mean, take a look:

Christmas in Colonial New York

It’s getting closer. Can you feel it? It’s almost Christmas! Have you finished your Christmas shopping? Have you even started? (Don’t worry if you haven’t). Going to holiday parties? Starting to find the office a bit sparse? Already tired of the same songs playing on the radio? Or are you singing along at the top of your lungs?

It doesn’t matter if you’re being Bob Cratchit or Ebenezer Scrooge, it’s still Christmas. If you’re a frequent reader of this blog, you know I’m a big history nerd. How did people of the past celebrate Christmas? How did New Yorkers of the past celebrate Christmas?

Boston

Two weeks ago, I spent a weekend in this great city. (Though not as great as New York. Winking smile) It wasn’t my first trip there. My family and I went back in 2008 for our summer vacation. I was the driving force, though my dad always insists my sister wanted to go there when he tells the story. (Though she corrects him as well—reminding him I wanted to go to Boston, she wanted to go to Salem. We did both). I enjoyed having the chance to go back.

Why did I go? Because my friends and I went to Anime Boston. Yes, we love to go to conventions. And for a few years, we’ve gone to AnimeNext in New Jersey. But last year, it wasn’t so great and we had heard Boston’s was better. So we planned our trip!
