It’s October, meaning we’re fast approaching November and NaNoWriMo.

I had been debating whether or not I was going to do it. I’m chugging along on my Big Project so I figured I was going to skip this year. But I changed my mind. I am going to participate.

What am I going to write? This time, I’m going to write a fanfic. Surprise, surprise, right?

Here’s a bigger surprise: It’s an Outlaw Queen one!

(Please note the sarcasm)

Last year, I wrote a multi-chapter story for Christmas…which I finally finished around Easter. I’d like not to repeat that this year. So I’m hoping NaNoWriMo will help me finish it on time.

What’s the plot? Robin and Regina are single parents whose sons, Henry and Roland, are best friends. Yet they are barely civil to each other, often being able to needle each other. Roland and Henry, though, ask Santa to be brothers for Christmas. And so Robin and Regina wake up on Christmas morning to a bit surprise—they are married!

They try to figure out what happened when they receive a note from Santa saying they are married and must stay so until New Year’s to give their boys a taste at having a brother. If they still can’t stand each other by then, the marriage will dissolve and they can return to their old lives.

Over the course of the week, though, they see new sides to each other and learn more than they knew. Will they want to end things by the time the New Year comes?

I have started working on it but I hope to really kick into gear in November.

To everyone else participating this year—good luck!
