Summer Writing Challenge

I know what you’re thinking: Another challenge, Allie? But you’re already so behind on your reading challenge. And I am, I know that.

This is different, though. This isn’t a reading challenge but a writing challenge. You might remember that back in 2014, I took part in the Write 53k challenge—which was to write 53,000 words over the summer. I got a good deal of “The Conference House” finished during that time. So I considered doing something similar.

I counted up the days from June 1st to September 1st. It’s 92 days. So then I decided to write 50K, just like a NaNo. Dividing that up, I realized that’s about 550 words a day. Which is totally doable, if you ask me.

So starting today, I’m going to write at least 550 words a day. Then come September 1st, I’ll have a novel length manuscript!

Once again, I’ll try to check in every week. Wish me luck!

If you decide to challenge yourself as well, let me know!
